The Advanced Earthquake and Tsunami Forecasting Technologies Project (EqTPJ) improves forecast and early warning technologies for strong earthquake shaking and tsunamis based on the experience from the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and data from MOWLAS. Research founded on MOWLAS also advances understanding of earthquake generation processes for assessing future earthquake potential and provides recommendations for national seismic mitigation policies.
